Opperste Working Dogs
We pride ourselves on our commitment to the careful planning, coordination, and leadership required to achieve continuous improvement to the health and genetic diversity of working breeds. We aim for dogs with exceptional physical strength as well as stability of character.
Opperste working dog roles
The Belgian Shepherd is a breed of medium-sized herding dog from Belgium. It is bred in four distinct varieties based on coat type and colour. These are the Groenendael, Laekenois, Tervuren and Malinois.
Opperste Working Dogs breeds and trains the Malinois. (Pronounced Mal-in-wah). Malinois has become increasingly popular with customs, military and police forces. Organisations that use the Malinois are the United States Armed Forces, United States Secret Service, Israel Defense forces, Australian Defence Forces and Police forces, and Corrective Services.
The Malinois breed today also excel as personal protection dogs, family dogs and sporting dogs. These dogs excel at Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Flyball, Herding, Showing, IPO/IGP (Schutzhund), other protection sports, search and rescue, police, and military work.
In the right hands, these dogs are intense, intelligent and athletic companions. Their high energy and exercise needs may not suit first-time dog owners.
With firm, consistent training and plenty of physical and mental activity, these dogs will be loving and loyal for life.
What we do
We aim to produce beautiful, functional and sound dogs in mind and body for generation after generation.
Breeding program
Through our breeding program, we aim to produce genetically sound dogs of stable temperament that are suitable for development into any working role such as Military, Police force, corrective service, private security guards and people who value security for their family or property.
Additionally, our dogs are suitable for people competing in dog sports, as well as people needing detection dogs for explosives detection, drug detection, search and rescue dogs.
Litter expected in mid-April 2023
Stud dogs
Our dogs are from proven lines that have demonstrated achievements and credibility both domestically and internationally. Many of our dogs’ siblings and parents are in military working roles as well as corrections and police force.
Animal reiki
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) comes from the Japanese words ‘rei’ meaning spirit and ‘ki’ meaning energy. We offer our Reiki to all animals, and we have a specific interest in working with line dogs, especially those in preparation for competition.
Animal Reiki is an alternative therapy with Reiki healing energy to help animals rebalance physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels. Reiki can release paint and accelerate the healing process of almost any kind of disease by providing the animal with all the supplementary energy he needs for the healing process.

What our clients say
Owning our first Malinois has been a huge learning curve for us. The support we have received from Renee since we picked up our puppy has been second to none - whenever we have had questions or have needed guidance or advice about raising and training Chilli, I know I can always count on Renee. She regularly posts helpful articles to our litter's Facebook group and encourages everyone to share pictures and updates on how our puppies are developing and growing.
Chilli is confident, strong and driven, but is also so loving and affectionate and is settling in very well as our family pet. Whenever we take Chilli anywhere, we are always told how striking and beautiful she is. We have started more structured training with Chilli and are looking forward to seeing what she is capable of.
Thank you Renee!
From the moment my pup was bred up until it was time for me to pick him up, I received constant updated on the pup's progress!
After I picked him up, Renae has only been a phone call away and always ready to help us with anything we need. It is clear that Renae truly cares about the pups. She breeds and the effort she puts in the early stages of the pup's development. It's obvious wheI would be happy to recommend Renae to anyone!
